If I created a protected worksheet in MS Excel would that protection still apply if I use KingOffice Spreadsheet?  If not, then how can I copy the exact worksheet to KingOffice Spreadsheet and apply the same protection.  I am unable to find that function in the Android KingOffice.

Yes,you can feel free to use it.And you'd better save it as .xls when using MS to creat it.Because Kingsoft can support to open all the format of KSO,but only can be saved as .xls when you want to save the changes.
As to the Android KingOffice, you can find the last icon on the menu to encrypt when you open your file.

I checked Spreadsheet that's installed in my phone and I don't see the menu that you're talking about.  All the option I see is, Common, View, Data, and Edit.  Can you please provide a detailed instruction where in the menu section of the Spreadsheet I can find to protect the cells and or worksheet.

Which version do you use? You can download here http://www.kingsoftstore.com/software/office-for-android which is 4.6 version, the latest version of Android KSO. Then you will see it.

I just downloaded version 4.7 for Android and in this update I now see the "unprotect" selection and an icon to go with it.  My worksheet is now protected.  Thank you for making this update.

I have a Nokia N8 with QuickOffice for Symbian Belle that can read pwd protected files from MsOffice up to 2007 format. That sw feature is not available anymore in Android nor in WndowsPhone format.

Before switching to android cell and installing Kinsgsoft Office for Android I want to be sure that I can open and save pwd protected files using original MsOffice files formats.

Furthermore, is there a compatibility table between MsOffice formats and KingOffice ones in order to understand what can be lost in using KingOffice on MsOffice formats?

thanks

Step one involves locking/unlocking specific cells in your spreadsheet.

Step two involves applying the Protect Sheet option. Until step 2 is completed, all data is vulnerable to change.
This tutorial cover step two: Protecting the worksheet.
